This is a special kind of low back therapy or lumbar therapy. A warm, medicated oil is kept over the lower back with a herbal paste boundary. It pacifies vata dosha, reduces pain and inflammation, purifies and improves blood circulation around lumbrosacral region, nourishes and strengthens the bones, connective tissues, ligaments, nerves and muscles of the lumbar-sacral region and lubricates the joints. kativasti is useful in the following conditions:
Chronic backache, degenerative spine changes, compressed discs and spinal nerves, disc prolapse, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis of the hip, rheumatic arthritis and sciatica.
